'7 Weeks to a Transformed Worship Team' delivers EXACTLY what it promises - a transformational heart check for any Worship Team that's serious about its calling to lead others in glorious worship of our King. *Your WHOLE TEAM for HALF the cost of sending ONE PERSON to a big-city seminar! *Up to $50 Discounts for early registry - See our Dropdown Menu for Dates.
This 7-part LIVE Webinar Series (followed by Q&A session) Equips teams of all sizes to successfully overcome the day-to-day problems that nearly every worship ministry faces... and helps leadership address the administrative & cultural issues with Team Management Principles that are not studied in Bible School - ALL straight from the Word of God. Our core teaching for this series is The 7 Biblical Stewardships of Worship Ministry. EVERYTHING that a team struggles with is either because a) one or more of these 'stewardships' is not being managed, or b) they have not taken root in the hearts of the team members.
*NOTE: MWM hosts this 7-week Series LIVE every 2 months (the odd months). When you purchase, you will be able to choose a future date from the dropdown menu - often at a discount for 'early registry.' This enables you (and your team) to plan ahead!
This study will address and biblically equip leaders & members for the following topics: *Team Conflict *Lack of Communication *Purposeful Decision-Making *Stage Presence/Etiquette *Respect for Authority *Legitimate vs. Illegitimate Team Leaders *How to Pick Worship Songs *Who determines music style (ending the worship wars) *Soundman Issues *Budgeting for your Mission *The Discipline of Equipment Maintenance *Excellence vs. Perfectionism vs. Laziness *What Satan wants from you *Establishing a Dress Code *Qualifying Standards for Team Membership *The Worship Ministry Covenant *EZ but transformational Arrangement Techniques *Short on talent? *Playing Tentatively vs. Confidently *Becoming Legally Compliant *Showing up Prepared & On-time, EVERY time *Organizing your Music *Mission: Self? or Sacrifice? *Making room for New, more Talented Members *When to Fire Substandard Members *Eliminating Sound & Performance Distractions... and MORE! *NOTE: This is NOT a theological study. We respect the worship practices & theology of each church to whom we are privileged to minister. This study deals with issues of the heart, motivations, behavior, dedication, organization, leadership, management, standards, & techniques - and ALL taught directly from the Word of God!
Preparing the Heart - Moral Conviction - To make a convincing appeal to your leadership or team that this series is a necessary step in the life & future of your Worship Team, you must first have the Moral Conviction that your team has issues that are not God honoring. Those issues may even be hindering your ability to fulfill your team's Mission in worship. They may even be hindering your prayers. Are there practices/attitudes/behaviors that your team needs to repent of?
- This is Serious - This isn't something you just start, and finish if it's convenient. You need to understand this is a serious Worship Team discipleship program. If the Mission of worship is important (it's why God created us!), we should apply ourselves seriously to the privilege God has set before us.
- Check your Paradigms at the Door - Not to insult you... but you (like many) are probably the product of YEARS of bad habits and a general lack of Worship Ministry standards. It's probably not your fault... we are mostly a product of the culture we come from. And if you're typical, chances are your past Worship Ministries were hotbeds for selfishness, pride, personal preferences, territorialism, emotionalism, disorganization & lack of communication, and conflict. It is unfortunately the norm. I hope I'm wrong in your case! But most likely, you have a LOT of forgetting to do. The first step is to check your Paradigms of how 'we've always done it' at the door. You will never gain victory or grow while determined only to embrace the familiar.
Webinar Preparation - No Practices - BIG HUGE SUGGESTION: This is only 7 weeks long. I believe it unwise - even counterproductive - to do this Webinar Series and ALSO insist on a full practice roster for the Worship Team. Give them 7 weeks off from practices. Let this time be Holy - separated for the purpose of renewal & transformation. If necessary, pick an easy song list and just do a quick run-through/sound check before your weekly services (for this temporary season).
- View as a Team - As much as possible, try to view this as a team - all in one room. Participate in the Q&A session (even if you just listen to others' questions). Invest time to discuss the material. Pray through this season!
- Pick ONE Location - Pick a consistent viewing facility and stick with it as much as possible (eliminates the variables). If your church uses overhead projection, are your screens tied in to the internet?
- Internet Connection - Whether using a projector or a computer screen, make sure your chosen location has a reliable High Speed Internet connection. If possible, avoid wireless connections. They are not always the most dependable.
- Type of Computer - It is ideal to use a hard-wired, fast working computer with a large viewing screen, hooked up to a great sound system. Wireless connections sometimes slow down or get dropped. Also, laptops have battery issues. If you MUST use a laptop, PLEASE make sure it is plugged in! Also, some laptop screens are difficult to view if you are slightly off to the side. Sound quality & volume are also common laptop issues. Avoid them altogether if possible.
- Pre-Webinar Testing - Test your Log-in credentials on the Webinar site BEFORE the day of the seminar - just to make sure everything is working. Also, Log-in 30 minutes to 1 hour before the Webinar is set to begin. That gives you enough time for alternatives, should anything malfunction.
- Archives! - Remember, if the worst should happen... you can always view the Webinar's recording afterward. So don't panic if everything doesn't go JUST right! Remind everyone that their Log-in & Passcode is good for the entire team. They can view & view again from home as many times as they like, through the end of the 2 month period.
- Prompt Beginnings - We can't delay our start. Remind everybody to be there plenty early, settled in, and to remain respectfully quiet throughout the presentation. There will be talk time after the lesson!
- Invite your Whole Church? - Sometimes, the obstacles of a Worship Ministry are NOT the ones on the team! You have MWM's blessing to invite Deacons, Pastors, well-behaved Teenage Youth, and even the entire congregation. We strongly advise against including children who are of an age requiring care, or not old enough to realize when they are to remain silent through presentations. If at all possible, provide child care at the church for people who may need help, so they can come apart and focus. But even if this can't happen... even if a majorly disruptive event should occur... remember there's always the Archives!
- Download the Lesson Plan - For those who wish to take notes and have a reference to help them follow along, the Lesson Plan is important. Make sure you have downloaded it and made enough copies in advance. Doing this last minute could cause chaos if there are copier/printer issues, or if the file doesn't download properly.
- Honesty, Vulnerability, and Respect - During the course of this Series, we're going to dig deep. We may unearth some very tender subjects, about which passions may run high. This is to be expected. In fact, it's the whole point. Surgery always hurts. But talk to your team beforehand, and lay down the rules of being honest, being strong enough to be vulnerable, and paying respect to others' opinions and values - whether or NOT we agree with them. This does NOT mean holding back or avoiding a hard discussion/decision because someone might play the 'hurt' card - quite the contrary! But it DOES mean "speaking the truth in love" when it needs to be spoken.
